San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan has raised serious doubts about quarterback Brock Purdy’s capacity to play in their Week 2 game. The game will be against the New Orleans, pointing to persistent toe and shoulder problems.
During the team’s Week 1 victory over Seattle, Brook Purdy suffered these injuries; the toe injury was the more severe of the two, which will stop him from participating in Wednesday’s training. Along with controlling Purdy’s possible absence, the 49ers are also battling with other major injuries. Following a hamstring injury suffered in the Week 1 game, tight end George Kittle has been put on injured reserve, which will keep him out for several weeks.
The performance of Purdy in his sole appearance this season was good: he completed 26 of 35 passes for 277 yards, along with two touchdowns and two interceptions in the triumph against Seattle.
