The Baltimore Ravens want Lamar Jackson to have a championship window. Philadelphia didn’t leave A.J. Brown, but the Seattle Seahawks let their Super Bowl MVP walk in free agency.
Let’s look at the winners and losers of one active week of trades.
Kenneth Walker – He still has a chance to repeat the Super Bowl MVP feat. The Kansas City Chiefs, in the Patrick Mahomes era, have shown they want to reach the Super Bowl again. So, Walker joined a team that gives him the chance to be competitive, along with the money. He is in a team that values playing at your best on the biggest stage.
Christian Parker – The Cowboys hired defensive coordinator Christian Parker to strengthen their defense. The Cowboys valued Parker’s skills in developing young talent. He developed Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean in the last two years with the Philadelphia Eagles.
Keon Coleman – The Buffalo Bills didn’t just want to let go of Keon Coleman. He had limited production since the 2024 Draft. In January, in a press conference, team owner Terry Pegula acted as if they don’t want him on the team. But the Receiver is still on the Buffalo roster.
Sauce Gardner – The Indianapolis Colts signed Sauce Gardner at the trade deadline. Last week, he posted on X: “Should I lock Alec Pierce in my basement and force him to sign the contract papers?” Alec Pierce and the Colts reached a four-year agreement for a deal worth $116 million.
Howie Roseman’s asking price – The Philadelphia Eagles want receiver A. J. Brown on their team. However, general manager Howie Roseman’s asking price is too much for them. According to multiple reports, Roseman wants a first and second-round pick. This did not materialize as receivers Moore and Pierce settled with their new team.
Aaron Rodgers – He stated on a show that there is no offer on the table from the Pittsburgh Steelers. In the last week, his market has not gotten smooth. There is an influx of cost-effective veteran QBs all of a sudden. It makes them an attractive veteran option at the minimum cost of $1.3 million. Kyler Murray, Tua Tagovailoa, Kirk Cousins, and Geno Smith are on the table.
New York Jets – Their defense could not secure any interceptions in 2025. It will be a record that they would want to forget. Before that, no team ever recorded fewer than two interceptions. Their free agency moves suggest that they are starting the defense rebuilding phase. Their new signings are Joseph Ossai, linebacker Demario Davis, and safety Minkah Fitzpatrick. They may also add strong young defensive talents in April as they have the second overall pick of the next NFL Draft.
