Texas Tech will wear special uniforms that feature quarterback Patrick Mahomes’ new “Gladiator” brand logo as part of their partnership with Adidas for their game against Colorado on Nov 9.
This is the first instance in College Football history that an athlete’s personal brand has been represented on an on-field uniform.
Here is what Patrick said in a statement.
“Seeing my own logo on the Texas Tech uniform I put so much blood, sweat, and tears in is one of the most meaningful off-field accomplishments of my career. I want to thank the three-stripe family for giving me this one-of-a-kind opportunity.”
The new kit is a departure from Texas Tech’s standard look as it boasts a metallic grey colorway with the Power Red accent. The logo of Patrick Mahomes can be seen on the left side of the chest, opposite the Big 12 Conference Logo. It can also be seen near the waistband of the pants.

Mahomes is a three-time Super Bowl champion and two-time NFL MVP with the Kansas City Chiefs. Since moving on, he has been involved heavily with his alma mater.
In August this year, Adidas and Mahomes announced that they signed six to a name, image, and likeness initiative called “Team Mahomes.” Micah Hudson was one of the six athletes included in this initiative, he is Texas Tech’s freshman wide receiver. Patrick started his journey with Texas Tech in 2014-2016. He then finished with 857 career completions for 11,252 yards and 93 touchdowns. Then, in 2017, he was selected by the Kansas City Chiefs with the 10th overall pick in the Draft.
