Shardul Thakur Picked by LSG in Place of Injured Mohsin Khan

    Mohsin Khan has been ruled out of the IPL 2025 due to a serious injury. Lucknow Super Giants have now selected the Mumbai pace bowling all-rounder Shardul Thakur to replace the injured Mohsin Khan. 

    Mohsin suffered an ACL tear and last featured in a competitive game in December 2024. After that, he has been in the recovery process but couldn’t make the cut before the start of the IPL. He is now set to miss the entire IPL season. 

    On the other hand, Shardul Thakur went unsold in the IPL auction in 2025. Now, LSG picked up Shardul Thakur from the Registered Available Player Pool at the base price of INR 2 crore. Shardul has been performing well in the recent domestic season. That is why he has been picked by the LSG team. 

    When it comes to IPL cricket, he has featured in 95 matches and picked up 94 wickets. He also contributes with the bat sometimes. His highest score in IPL is 68 runs. Over the years, he has played for many franchises including Punjab Kings, Chennai Super Kings, Rising Pune Supergiants, Delhi Capitals, and Kolkata Knight Riders. 

    Earlier, Shardul Thakur signed a deal with Essex to play in County Championship games. These games were scheduled to co-exist with the IPL. Now, he has been selected for the IPL and that is why he will be unavailable for the County season.
