The Colorado Rockies finally won their first series win of 2025 and it took them two months. Hunter Goodman helped them to win by 3-2 with a home run.
The Colorado Rockies beat the Miami Marlins at LoanDepot Park on Tuesday night. That victory combined with Monday’s win clinched the series for the Rockies. Now, they’ll try for a three-game sweep on Wednesday.
Hunter Goodman leads the charts for the Rockies with 10 homers and 35 RBI. This is not just the first series win in 2025 but it also breaks the 22 series losing streak. The 22 series losing streak dates back to last season, the longest losing series in history. Before this series win, the Rockies last won a series last September 16-18 against the Arizona Diamondbacks.
The win on Tuesday improved the Rockies’ stats slightly. This season they are 11-50 and this series win is their second this season. In April, they also won two straight games against the Atlanta Braves and the San Francisco Giants. However, those two different series did not count in the series win. That was just two consecutive wins.
However, they remain on pace to be the worst team in baseball history. At this pace, they will lose 133 games this year and will easily clear the 121 record set by the Chicago White Sox last year. If they wish to finish with a better record than the White Sox, then they need to go 31-70 the rest of the way.
