The NCAA Men’s Hockey Tournament of 2025 is under way and a tournament of 16 teams will pave the way to Frozen Four in St. Louis. Regions begin hosting their slates on Thursday with finals scheduled for Saturday and Sunday. Then the Frozen Four comes to St. Louis on April 10 and 12 with all matches televised on ESPN networks such as ESPN+.
Champions in their six respective conference tournaments automatically earn a berth in the NCAA. The remaining berths are available to the top 10 at-large teams. Boston College, the only top seed overall, heads off into Manchester, New Hampshire regional. Other top seeds in the tournament include Big Ten champion Michigan State (Toledo, Ohio), Hockey East champion Maine (Allentown, Pennsylvania), and NCHC champion Western Michigan (Fargo, North Dakota).
The defending national champion, Denver, is off to the tournament seeded No. 3 in Manchester, while UConn (No. 2 in Allentown) and Bentley (No. 4 in Manchester) are both making their NCAA tournament bows.
