It cannot be denied that LeBron James is one superstar of the Los Angeles Lakers who indeed reaches 40 years old. The evidence is in the performance that he continues to show this season.

However, on Thursday night against the Portland Trail Blazers, age set him free once again as he led his team to an important victory on the road. James helped put that tally on scoreboards where he beamed a performance with 40 points, with shooting stats of 14 made effort off of 24 total tries and a percentage of four successful three-point efforts out of eight.

All these and more were part of history as the Lakers toppled the Portland Trail Blazers by a score of 110-102. He also netted eight rebounds, had four assists, recorded two steals, and managed to add one block- an old-to-new classic LeBron performance at a great moment for Los Angeles.

James has become the first player in NBA history to record several 40-plus scoring games at the age of 40 or greater with this feat. Lakers head coach JJ Redick said he was honored to coach such a legendary figure in JJ Redick.

Reddick said, “He really just defies anything that’s normal. And not just the physical feats and the plays; it’s the mentality.”

Adding to this, he said, “He’s a billionaire, and he’s playing on the second night of a back-to-back at 40 after 22 years with every fricking record and every accolade. It’s like, he’s amazing to coach. He sets the standard for how you’re supposed to approach this craft.” And the Lakers hope that James doing the same with Luka Doncic is just enough to get them back into the championship. The Los Angeles squad is currently seated fifth in the blood-most modernized Western Conference of the year with a record of 33-21.
