On Monday, the Los Angeles Lakers announced their full coaching staff for the 2024-25 season. In the list, the head coach will be joined by six assistants this season.
The staff includes head coach JJ Redick, Nate McMillan, and Scott Brooks. Here is the full list of the coaching staff of the Los Angeles Lakers for the 2024-25 season.
JJ Redick: The Head Coach
Redick retired in 2021 as a player after a successful 15-year career in the NBA. After that, he became one of the most respected members of the media as he started a podcast with LeBron James titled “Mind the Game”. With this job, he started his coaching career right into the deep end. It will be interesting to see how he fares in his time as a coach.
Nate McMillan: Assistant Coach
With over two decades of coaching experience, Nate McMillan brings a lot to the table. He has been with four franchises in his career and recently he was the head coach of the Atlanta Hawks.
Scott Brooks: Assistant Coach
He is also a long-time coach at the NBA and brings a vast amount of knowledge with him. He was the head coach of the Oklahoma City Thunder from 2008-2015.
Bob Beyer: Assistant Coach
He started his career at the collegiate level and then progressed to the big league. However, he has never been a head coach of a team in the NBA. He’s been the assistant coach in the league for over two decades.
Greg St. John: Assistant Coach
St. John was the player development coach under Frank Vogel when the Lakers won the championship in 2020. Now, he will be working with Redick to take the team forward.
Lindsey Harding: Assistant Coach
After a long WNBA career, Lindsey Harding has worked her way up to the coaching staff of the Lakers. She will be the first female coach ever for the Lakers.
Beau Levesque: Assistant Coach
Levesque has been working as the player development coordinator for the Los Angeles Clippers for some time. JJ Redick wants player development to be a key thing during his time with the Lakers. So, he wants the expertise of Levesque to achieve his mission.
The roster of the LA Lakers has not changed much from last season. Redick would want to turn the fortunes of the LA Lakers and bring them back into a contender in the Western Conference.
