Eagles Cut Former Pro Bowl LB Devin White

The Philadelphia Eagles have released veteran linebacker Devin White. He was signed to a one-year deal with the team this offseason.

The former Pro Bowler never appeared in a regular season game for the Eagles after that.

The main reason for signing was to give the team a productive player and veteran presence in the middle of their defense. Well, that didn’t happen as he lost his position battle with Nakobe Dean. Apart from that, younger linebackers and special teams contributors Ben VanSumeren and Jeremiah Trotter Jr. also kept him off the field during his brief time with the Eagles.

Devin White is still a 26-year-old player who has been playing for a long time. Now, he will try to make an impact for another team. The Eagles have given Devin a great chance at finding a new team before the talks of trades ramp up.

Well, White should be a great prospect for other teams as he was a 2021 Pro Bowler who played an integral role in the Buccaneers’ championship season back in 2020. He was the No. 5 overall pick and a productive tackler who was capable of getting quarterbacks and forcing turnovers in Tampa.

When he was with the Buccaneers, he set career highs with 140 tackles and nine sacks while also forcing and recovering a fumble.

Last year, he got a career-high two interceptions in his final year with Tampa.

There are many teams who could snatch him up before trade talks ramp up. The names of the teams include Bengals, Jets, Lions, Jaguars, and Buccaneers.
