Just a few days ago, Atlanta Dream was in a spot of bother. They were almost on the verge of being eliminated, but now they’ve clinched the no. 8 seed with a 78-67 win over New York Liberty in the regular season finale.

Thursday’s match was a do-or-die situation for the Dream. If they win the match, they are in. However, that was not going to be easy for them as they had to wrestle against the league-leading Liberty. Liberty won the first three matchups between the two teams this season without any trouble.

Dream didn’t get a good start but they closed the first quarter strong. By halftime, they were up by double digits and then they pushed that advantage to 20 points.

In the end, it was a comfortable win for Dream. With this win, the Dream is alive in the playoffs. They closed their season with a three-game winning streak. This was not one of the best seasons for them.

They were 4-2 in the first six games; these games included a great win against defending champion Las Vegas Aces. After that, Dream lost their way in the season and lost 15 of their next 18 games.

After the Olympic break, they turned the tide around with a three-game winning streak, where they defeated Seattle Storm and Connecticut Sun. Dream again lost their way and ended up losing 8 of their next 10.

However, they showed conviction against the Washington Mystics on Sunday and started their three-game winning streak.
