Brandon Aiyuk wants to leave the 49ers before the 2024 season begins but the team doesn’t want to trade him. There is already some interest from multiple teams. However, the San Francisco franchise does not want to pay him as much as he wants.
The wide receiver from the 49ers, Brandon Aiyuk, has requested a trade. The contract negotiations between the two parties are not going anywhere and that is the reason why the WR has requested the trade. However, the 49ers don’t want to let go of a player of Brandon Aiyuk’s caliber.
According to reports, there were multiple contract discussions and, in the end, Aiyuk gave up. The team selected the WR in the first round of the 2020 NFL draft and last season they made it to the Super Bowl but lost to the Chiefs.
The franchise has triggered the fifth-year option of AIyuk’s rookie contract but it looks like the end of the relationship for both.
This is the last season of Brandon with the 49ers and he wants to secure a beefy contract extension with the 49ers. His desire is to be at the same level as some of the other prominent athletes like AJ Brown, DeVonta Smith, and Jaylen Waddle. Brandon is slated to make $14 million in his final year of contract.
According to an NFL network source, both parties sat down for contract negotiations three weeks ago in Santa Clara but they were unable to find the middle ground.
Jeremy Fowler from ESPN reported, he either wants to be paid or traded.
