Cricket Australia has appointed Ada Griffith as the new pace bowling coach for their team. Griffith, the former Tasmanian first-class cricketer, will be aligned with the country’s men’s teams and will be in charge of “development and preparation of pace bowlers.”

Griffith is the current assistant coach of the Victoria team. He will take up this assignment from that position. After the appointment, he will be based out of Cricket Australia’s National Cricket Centre in Brisbane. There, he will take the responsibilities of leading a strategy to develop pace bowlers, overseeing the preparation of national pace bowlers, providing coaching support to the Australia men’s and Australia A men’s teams, and assisting with the development of pace bowling coaches.

Andrew McDonald, the head coach of Australia’s senior men’s side, seems elated by the news. “I’m delighted Adam will bring his extensive experience to Cricket Australia as National Pace Bowling Coach and become an important part of our coaching setup. Adam’s expertise across all formats will be invaluable in the preparation of pace bowlers for Australia’s national men’s teams,” he repeated.

On the experience front, Griffith has extensive coaching experience at an elite level. In the past, he has worked with Western Australia and Perth Scorchers in the capacity of Senior Assistant Coach. He was also Tasmania’s Director of Coaching and Head Coach of Tasmania Tigers and Hobart Hurricanes. He also served as the assistant bowling coach for Royal Challengers Bengaluru until the recent 2024 season.

Griffth has previously worked with Australian men’s teams on bilateral tours in 2012 and 2016 and at the 2019 ICC World Cup in England.
