Anthony Davis scored 17 points and grabbed 14 rebounds, Tyrese Haliburton came up with a pair of late 3-pointers that helped the team sway the game in their direction.
Solid play from Anthony Davis allowed the team to beat Australia by 98-92 on Monday to improve its scoreline in the leadup to the Olympics. Now, team USA is 2-0 in its five-game slate of exhibition matches leading the premier event in Paris.
Apart from Anthony Davis, Devin Booker scored 16 for the USA, and Anthony Edwards scored 14. Three US players scored 10 points each for their team including LeBron James, Bam Adebayo, and Joel Embiid.
Team USA is playing host in Abu Dhabi, UAE, this week. They will play Serbia there on Wednesday.
The Australian star, Jock Landale scored 20 for the team. The team also got 17 from Josh Giddey and 14 from Dyson Daniels.
The USA team was leading by 24 points midway but the Australians came back with resilience and cut the lead to six points with 5:05 minutes remaining. But Haliburton scored two back-to-back three-pointers to take the lead to 8.
In the final 8 seconds, Devin Booker went 4-for-4 from the line and ensured that the US would trump in the game.
Just like the other game against Canada, the so-called second-unit boys changed the game. Boys like Haliburton, Adebayo, Davis, and Booker are giving their all to the team and proving to the match winners.
