Shane Burgos, the American professional mixed martial artist, hasn’t fought in a professional setting since he faced Clay Collard in August 2023.
So, he has been inactive for nearly three years; however, it looks like that is about to change. He revealed that in an Instagram post.
In that post, the UFC and Professional Fighters League veteran showed his intent to return to the world of mixed martial arts. The 35-year-old Team Tiger Schulmann representative has not participated since he lost a fight against Clay Collard with an unanimous decision. It was a fight arranged under the PFL banner in August 2023.
He says that he is now refreshed and ready to take on more challenges.
Here is what he wrote on his Instagram post.
“One more run,” Burgos wrote.
“I needed that break from fighting. The weight cuts, the training camps, everything that goes into it burned me out. That’s in the past tho. I’ve never stopped working. I need to be back in that fire again. I miss it. Excited for whatever’s next.”
Burgos debuted in the UFC in 2017 and has since compiled an 8-3 record over his tenure, completing in 2022. After that, he signed with PFL and recorded a 1-2 score in the league before taking some time off.
It became an extended hiatus than he would’ve liked. Overall, he has a record of 16-5 and began his professional career in 2013. Over the years, he has defeated the likes of Bill Algeo, Cub Swanson, Billy Quarantillo, and Charles Jourdain.
