Travis Head Wins the Allan Border Medal

    At the Australian Cricket Awards 2025, Travis Head won his maiden Allan Border Medal. He got 208 votes in total to get that medal. Next on the list was Josh Hazlewood with 50 fewer votes and the next was Pat Cummins with 61 fewer votes. 

    Travis Head has had a superlative 2024 and performed well in all three formats of the game. In 2024, he scored 1427 runs across formats that included four centuries. Apart from this, he also won the Men’s ODI Player of the Year award. In that, he beat Alex Carey to it. 

    Shane Warne Test Player of the Year award has been given to Josh Hazlewood. He has taken 30 Test wickets at an average of 13.17. Adam Zampa was named the Men’s T20I player of the year. 

    These were the awards in the men’s section. Let’s look at the women’s section now. 

    Annabel Sutherland won the Belinda Clark Award for the first time. This award comes right after she scored a brilliant century in the one-off Ashes Test against England. Sutherland also played a great innings of 210 against South Africa in the Test match at the end of the season. She has an impressive tally of 798 runs in the year at an average of 46.94. Apart from this, she has also taken 34 wickets across formats. 

    Ashleigh Gardner was named Women’s ODI Player of the Year and Beth Mooney was named T20I Player of the Year. This year, Gardner continued her brilliant all-round performance with 385 runs and 23 wickets. On the other hand, Mooney made 618 T20I runs at an average of 47.53 and a strike rate of 129.83.
