RCB just won a match at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru for the first time in this edition of IPL. They have now won six matches out of nine games in IPL 2025.

In a crucial game at Bengaluru against Rajasthan Royals (RR) on Thursday night, they got their first home of the season. From the remaining of the five games, they will play three of them at Bengaluru. So, it is good for them to have won a game in Bengaluru. On the other hand, RR is in a spiral and it is tough to remember when they won the last time.

After winning the toss, Rajasthan decided to bowl first. However, they couldn’t back that decision with a precise bowling performance. The fielding aspect of the RR was quite bad; they dropped one too many chances.

Bengaluru started well with Virat Kohli and Salt providing a solid powerplay performance. Right after the powerplay, Salt got out to Hasaranga on 26. Kohli and Padikkal steadied the ship and accelerated from there. Both players added more than 90 runs for their team before Kohli fell to Jofra Archer. On the back of 70 from Kohli and 50 from Padikkal, RCB made 205 runs from 20 overs.

In response, Jaiswal and Vaibhav Suryavanshi started pretty well and put RR ahead of the required run rate for the most part of the match. Nitish Rana and Riyan Parag played their part in accelerating but they started losing wickets at regular intervals.

In the 18th over, Druv Jurel took 22 runs off Bhuvneshwar Kumar. After that, they were only left with 18 runs to win from the last two overs with five wickets in hand.

The 19th over from Hazlewood changed the complexion of the game. He took two wickets by spending only one run. It was one of the phenomenal overs from the tall Australian. With 17 required from the last over, Yash Dayal did his job by not allowing them to score runs freely. He only gave five runs from the over and RCB won by 11 runs.

It was RR’s game from the start of the 2nd inning, however, they botched it up right at the end.
