Packers NFL Championship Becomes Harder After Micah Parsons Injury

    Micah Parsons Injury Hurts Packers

After the underwhelming performance in the last season, the Green Bay Packers showed urgency to compete for the championship. That is why the Packers traded for Micah Parsons in a bid to get from good to great. Parsons had an immediate impact on the team with his 12.5 sacks.

The Packers’ loss to the Denver Broncos went from bad to worse after an MRI confirmed that Micah Parsons sustained a torn ACL in Week 15. This injury will keep Parsons out of the league for at least 9 months. Now that Micah is out, the worry is that the Packers go from a potentially great season to being good.

However, it doesn’t mean that the Packers will now surrender without Parsons. The Packers still have a lot of talent available in their ranks. However, their Super Bowl dream might look much less realistic without their best player out. He was probably one of the best players in the entire NFL.

Parsons was such a player who made an emphatic impact on the league. He is the third in the NFL with 79 pressures, according to Pro Football Focus. He is also tied third in the NFL in terms of sacks. No other player from their team has more than 7.5 sacks or 47 pressures.

If the Packers had only lost Micah to an injury, then that would be easier for them. Recently, they also lost tight end Tucker Kraft, and he was their best player in the passing game this season. Apart from these two, the Packers also lost defensive tackle Devonte Wyatt and offensive lineman Elgton Jenkins. It means that the Packers will be going forward without their four key players. That will be a lot less firepower than they would’ve liked.

After a disappointing last season, the Packers knew they had to change and upgrade themselves. Micah was exactly what they could have asked for. But without Micah for the rest of the season, it seems their Super Bowl chances are low.
