The Orioles have had issues with their starting pitchers. Now with the concerns with Grayson Rodriguez, the Orioles have taken another hit.

The 24-year-old was scheduled to start the game in Toronto, however he didn’t start the game. Just 10 minutes before the game, the Orioles announced that Rodriguez was being replaced with Albert Suárez.

At the time of the announcement, there was no explanation given for this replacement. However, after five innings, the Orioles announced that the player was facing issues with lat/teres discomfort.

You can check this tweet where Rodriguez says, “I don’t feel right.”

This obviously triggered the Orioles to make the change in the game.

This season, Rodriguez is 13-4 with a 3.86 ERA, 1.24 WHIP, and 130 strikeouts against 36 walks in 116 2/3 innings. And if he goes out for a long time, the thin rotation of the Orioles would be exposed further. Keep in mind that they’ve already lost Kyle Bradish, John Means, and Tyler Wells for the season.

The team management tried their best to recruit two starters before the trade deadline Zach Eflin and Trevor Rogers. However, neither of them is of the caliber of Rodriguez.

With Rodriguez out, the playoff rotation would go, Burnes, Eglin, Rogers, and Dean Kremer.

They have a long battle down the stretch as they are not tied atop the AL East with the Yankees.

All the fans and the team management would be hoping for Rodriguez to return soon.
