The left-arm pacer from Bangladesh, Mustafizur Rahman, has been cleared to join DC ahead of the IPL resumption from May 17. He has been granted a no-objection certificate by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) to participate in the tournament with Delhi Capitals.

However, he will not be available for the rest of the IPL tournament. His participation in the league will be limited to the league stage of the IPL. BCB only granted him permission to play from May 18 to May 24.

Currently, the Bangladesh team is in Sharjah to play two T20Is against the UAE on May 17 and May 19. Mustafizur will be available for the first game, and then he will join the Delhi Capitals. After this, Bangladesh is slated to play a high-profile T20I series with Pakistan. That series begins on May 25, and BCB wants Mustafizur to join the squad before the first match.

Here is what BCB said in a statement.

“As per the decision of BCB Cricket Operations, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has granted a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to national team pace bowler Mustafizur Rahman for his participation in the ongoing IPL 2025 in India, for the period from 18 – 24 May 2025. It may also be noted that Mustafizur is available for Bangladesh’s first T20 international against the UAE scheduled on 17 May 2025 in Sharjah.”

He was picked by Delhi Capitals to replace Jake Fraser-McGurk. However, there was a lot of confusion about his participation. DC is still in the hunt for the playoff berth as they are fifth on the table with 13 points from 11 games. They are only a point behind the Mumbai Indians.

Mustafizur will be a good addition to Delhi as Mitchell Starc is not available for the remaining IPL 2025. Mitch decided not to return after a brief break. Friday morning, Starc confirmed that he wouldn’t be travelling to India for the remainder of the IPL.
