The activities of the 2025 Major League Baseball (MBL) regular season are just around the corner after a long offseason, and it’s time to throw the first pitch in approximately 24 hours.
March Madness is here, and it is accompanied by both men’s and women’s basketball tournaments, in addition to the NCAA Wrestling Championships happening this week. Sports fans are in for an action-packed month when it rolls out the 2025-26 MLB regular season.

The start of this season will be marked by the first two-game series between the Los Angeles Dodgers, and Chicago Cubs on Tuesday in Tokyo Dome, Japan. Both teams have their number of top Japanese players. Three-time MVP Shohei Ohtani and Cubs pitcher Shota Imanaga represent the best in an international match-up.
The first pitch is scheduled at 5:10 a.m. CT, and you can watch it live on MLB.TV or Fubo subscription. The traditional Opening Day of MLB is now on Thursday 27 March for 28 teams in action. The Dodgers and Cubs are still included in the Opening Day festivities even though they will have already played the first two games because the Dodgers will host the Detroit Tigers and the Cubs will play the Diamondbacks in Arizona.
The Cubs will officially launch into the 2025 regular season Friday, March 28 with the first of a three-game series against Omaha Storm Chasers. Tickets for the game are available at iowacubs.com.
The Iowa Cubs hope to erase the memory of a rough 68-82 campaign in 2024. However, as the Iowa Cubs march into 2025, they will carry on their roster seven players recognized in the Top 100 prospects of MLB Pipeline. Among them are infielders Matt Shaw and James Triantos, pitcher Cade Horton, catcher Moises Ballesteros, and outfielders Owen Caissie and Kevin Alcantara.
