It has been a long time since LeBron James made his debut in the NBA. He has been there for a long time and has seen all the things a player can go through in a career.

However, this would be the first for him to play with his son in the NBA. Bronny James was selected by the Lakers to play for them. The James senior says that it was one of his dreams to play alongside his son, Bronny in the NBA.

Now that it is on the precipice of happening, he is setting up some ground rules for playing in the same team. Speaking on “The Shop,” the show he co-produces, the James senior elaborated that Bronny cannot call him “Dad” while they are inside the facility.

Here is what James Senior had to say about it.

“No, he can’t; we already laid that down. Once we leave, out of the practice facility, and the gates close, I could be ‘Dad’ again, in the car if we ride together. At home, I could be ‘Dad.’ No, he gotta call me ‘2-3’ or ‘Bron,’ or ‘GOAT’ [greatest of all time] if he wants to. It’s up to him. I mean, it’s up to him.”

He is right though that the transition would be much easier for him than it will be for his son. He further quipped, “It’s easy for me because I’ve been calling him ‘Bronny’ for so long. It’s not like I’ve been, ‘Hey son, hey son.’ So it’s easy for me. It’s gonna be an adjustment for him. We cannot be running down the court, and he’d be like, ‘Dad, Push the ball up! Dad, I’m open! Dad, come on!'”

The Lakers have their media day on September 30 and start their training camp on Oct 1. They will face Minnesota again in the regular-season opener on Oct 22.
