The five-time major winner Brooks Koepka might not play in the upcoming season of LIV Golf. He is under contract, but sources inside the golf world say Koepka may skip the entire 2026 campaign of the tournament. These speculations come from his declining satisfaction with the LIV and an interest in a PGA tour comeback.
Koepka was one of the biggest names in golf to start playing for LIV Golf when it was launched in 2022. However, he is yet to sign a new deal with LIV Golf, backed by Saudi Arabia.
The CEO of LIV Golf, Scott O’Neil, was asked about this matter, and he didn’t say much about it.
“I know you’re not going to want to hear this one, just the individual players, and this goes back to our policy, we’re just going to run it through,” O’Neil said. “So, we haven’t made any announcements on players, but he is signed for 2026.”
The 35-year-old player has won five times on the LIV Golf tour and has nine wins on the PGA tour. He also has three PGA championships in 2018, 2019, and 2023. Apart from this, he also has U.S. Opens (2017, 2018).
If he decides not to play LIV Golf 2026, he would have access to each major next year because of his win at the 2023 PGA Championship.
Former LIV Golf players have competed in the PGA Tour after serving a one-year suspension from the date of their final LIV Golf tournament. However, it is not clear if Koepka would face additional actions if he tries to come back, because he previously held PGA Tour cards.
The last time Koepka played in LIV Golf was at Michigan in August. So, it means that the earliest he can return to the PGA Tour is in August 2026.
