Jordan Spieth is a well-known player who can pull off some miraculous shots when he needs them the most.

Yes, we haven’t seen him at his best in the last three years or so. However, he still has the charm and ability to entertain fans whenever he plays on the PGA Tour. During the off-season, he has been working hard on his game. He is now hopeful of discovering his best form during the 2026 PGA Tour.

Spieth has hit some incredible shots over the years. Many times, he’s holed out from off the green. However, one shot from nine years ago is his greatest ever. When talking to Golf.com, Spieth responded with what he thinks is the best shot of his career.

He said: “The 6-iron I hit at the Open Championship at Birkdale after the conundrum on the previous hole. I stepped up with a 6-iron there and just hit a dead-straight rocket. It almost went in, and I kind of took back control of the Championship there.”

“I think it was probably the best shot I have ever hit. It was like a hold 6-iron, a little wind, it was starting to rain a little, the wind was off the right. I just lined up right at the pin, and I just tried to hold a pinchy fade, and it’s just going to hold the breeze. So it went to about three-and-a-half feet, and I went on a run from there.”

During the 2017 Open Championship, he was in danger of throwing it away after the antics on the 13th hole at Royal Birkdale during the final round. He made an incredible bogey after taking an unplayable lie and hitting his third shot from the driving range.

However, the horrible tee shot from the 13th hole would have definitely been playing on his mind. So, playing an awesome shot on the next hole was truly a great feat.

The shot on the 14th hole was special, but the timing of it made it more special for Spieth. That is probably the reason why he picked this shot as his career best.
