At the very breathless end of the 2024-25 regular NHL season, the league has made the announcement of the first-round television schedule for the Stanley Cup Playoffs. The playoffs start on Saturday with two exciting match-ups in the West shown on Warner Bros. Discovery’s TNT as well as Trutv for the fans to watch.

The Winnipeg Jets, winners of the Presidents’ Trophy, take on the awesome penalty-whistling rising St. Louis Blues at 3:00 PM, Pacific time, and the Colorado Avalanche versus the Dallas Stars game starts at 3:30 PM. Streaming for both matches is also available on Max.

Action continues on Sunday with three more games in the first round, while Monday marks the start of ESPN/ESPN2 broadcasting with more first-round series. These Stanley Cup Playoffs are filled with all sorts of amazing stories. One of the good ones is this: an all-time classic-fourth consecutive first-round series between the Los Angeles Kings and the Edmonton Oilers. The Oilers have sent their longtime rival packing three years in a row, but the Kings are having one of their best seasons in almost sixty years.

In the West, the Pacific Division champion Vegas Golden Knights will have a home-ice advantage in this matchup versus the Minnesota Wild, who qualified with a wild-card spot. On the other side in the Eastern Conference, Alexander Ovechkin, captain of the Washington Capitals, will go against the surprising wild-card the Montreal Canadiens.

The Toronto Maple Leafs, a team which has never ever lifted the Stanley Cup since 1967, is ready to confront the Senators, who have managed to secure a palace in the playoffs for the first time since 2017. Also, the last match will be extremely exciting, where fans will witness defending champions Florida Panthers going against their Florida neighbours, the Tampa Bay Lightning.
