We have learned that Delhi Capitals have decided to take the services of Matthew Mott as the assistant coach of their team ahead of the IPL 2025.
Matthew Mott has an impressive record as a coach and is considered a serial winner. He has won both the Men’s T20 World Cup and Women’s T20 World Cup as Head Coach.
He has had an incredible record with the Australian Women’s team from 2015 to 2022. It was a period where the Australian team dominated the opposition. It is a period where they have won the ODI World Cup once and T20 World Cup Twice. After completing his job with the Australian team, he joined the English Men’s team as their whiteball coach.
As the coach of the England team, he won the 2022 T20 World Cup. However, the poor ODI World Cup in 2023 and the poor T20 World Cup in 2024 made him quit his position in the English team. In 2024, the England team was unable to defend their crown.
After this, he signed a three-year deal with Sydney Sixers as their new assistant coach. Now, he has also signed a deal with the Delhi Capitals as assistant coach to work in the IPL.
