As per the report coming out of the Bay Area, the San Francisco 49ers have negotiated the framework of the trade.
Now, the resolution to Brandon Aiyuk’s trade rumors can be put to rest. The 49ers have negotiated a potential trade with the Cleveland Browns and New England Patriots. Now, it’s up to the star wideout and his camp to choose the team he wants.
According to the report, the Patriots are negotiating aggressively and they are even willing to make Aiyuk one of the top five highest-paid receivers in the NFL. As per the report, the Browns and Steelers are also in the mix to snatch Aiyuk for themselves.
The report further states that the 49ers have accepted what the Browns and Patriots offered for Aiyuk, now it all comes down to money. It is also reported that the 49ers could receive a wide receiver and package of picks in place of their no. 1 wide receiver.
This development comes after the news by NFL Media of contract talks between Aiyuk and the 49ers had stalled. So, it was more likely that Brandon Aiyuk would be traded rather than getting an extension.
It was also previously reported that the 49ers gave permission to Aiyuk to negotiate the deals with Browns, Patriots, Steelers, and the Washington Commanders.
Commanders eventually dropped out while Pittsburgh reengaged with the 49ers. They were willing to match San Francisco’s price. So, now, New England, Cleveland, and Steelers are in the mix.
Brandon Aiyuk had his best season yet in 2023 as he caught 75 passes for a career-high 1342 yards and seven touchdowns.
